I am a public school teacher. I love public schools, but they harbor one of the most damaging and life wrecking programs in America, the National School Lunch Program and their fast food business partners. We should be FED UP with our children being poorly fed and misled. FED UP is a movement that ask for schools to have their teachers and administration come out in support of new set of community based, financially doable,nutritionally sound guidelines. These guidelines are not based around special interest groups, but on the needs of the students. FED UP would also call for a ban of fast food franchises and beverage companies in schools. The money would be used to create action and awareness kits (with how-to write new guidelines), statewide kick off events, and promotional materials. Isn't time you got FED UP with school lunches?
